Your thermostat also plays a role. A properly installed programmable or smart thermostat can help maintain consistent settings and reduce needless cooling when the house is empty. It cannot correct an improperly sized system, but it can help a correctly designed system operate more effectively.

Plan for comfort, not just tonnage
